THE PRICE OF THE PHOENIX

By: Sondra Marshak & Myrna Culbreath

(Text taken from the April 1977 edition)

CAPTAIN KIRK IS DEAD - LONG LIVE CAPTAIN KIRK!

Spock, Dr. McCoy, and the other crewmen of the
Starship Enterprise experience a stunning double shock.
The first painful blow is Captain Kirk's tragic death.
Then, Captain Kirk's miraculous rebirth reveals the
most awesome force the Enterprise has ever
encountered.  Spock is forced into a desperate
gamble for Kirk's human soul against Omne - the
ultrahuman emperor of life beyond life,
and death beyond hell . . .

A nerve shattering voyage into unknown terror
with the Starship Enterprise.

(Text taken from the February 1993 edition)

Poker is a game best played with a straight
face and steely nerves.  Now Spock must play
the most dangerous game of all.  At risk: the
sovereignty of the Federation.  The stakes:
Captain James T. Kirk.

TREKKIEGUY'S REVIEW

Omne is definitely one of the most powerful
enemies Kirk has ever faced, which makes
for some good story telling.

This was a pretty good book, although
somewhat long-winded in its descriptions at times.

It's been many years since I read this novel so perhaps
it's time to re-read it to fully appreciate the story.
